So good news everybody! While I was poking around trying to figure out why my blower motor suddenly stopped working, I took the PDC apart and made a crucial discovery: I have the wires running to the PDC for the fog light relays!!! I guess I will add those wires and terminals being there as another tick on the list of things that are weird about my Jeep. Looks like I may just need to track down the relays, add the switch and just plug in the fog light harness and see if it all works....
I’ll consider that a win!
Relays are a 72472M. Bought a lot of six Siemens relays OEM on eBay for $30...
Well if you go back and read my thread some guy posted on there that he had the terminals in the PDC too.
And what he did to make everything work.

Frankly I think it is more trouble then it is worth but like 4.3L XJ I get it.
So what I think I know.
Chances are there are no terminals in your PDC for the relays.
I am not sure why there are 2 relays by the way.
Anyway, so no terminals to me means no wiring.
Now you have bought the headlight harness for an XJ with fog lights.
It has big connector on the end that plugs in behind the driver's side headlight in the engine compartment.
So there are two wires on the connectors for the fog lights on the harness you grabbed.
Power and ground.
IMO first thing you have to do is determine if the wires for power and ground in the headlight harness have corresponding wires in that big connector behind the driver's side headlight.
If there are then you are part way there. If not you will have to repin that connector with some.
Here is the thing I don't know. Where they go from there.
And you could probably figure it out with schematics but it would take some work just to do that.
And if you don't have any wiring in the PDC, fuse box in the engine compartment by the way, you will have to split that open and add some.
Go here and download the FSM, Factory Service Manual, for the 2000.

Even though you have an '00 I am betting that wiring schematic in there would still apply.
But it is going to take some work on your part to read them, figure out what wires you care about, and if they are there.
I say just wire them like aftermarket ones would be and call it a day.

Yup Ralph, I missed this one. Initially I clicked on the other link in the post for the service manual and I missed this one while I was keeping up with the rest of the threads.

Here we go folks. Straight plug and play with the PDC that came equipped on my XJ.
229611

Stock non fog switch panel
229612
Notice plug was already there for the fog light switch
229613

new switch panel with a good fog switch and the power port with a volt meter integrated.
229614

Fog light equipped harness almost ready to go in. Had to rob some of the old Christmas tree mounts from the non fog light harness coming off of the Jeep to make the new one good as new. Also had to put some fresh electrical tape on some of the wire joints.
229615

Non fog light harness coming out. All of the Christmas tree mounts can be pushed out with coaxing. If you pull them without trying to collapse them, they will most assuredly break.
All that needed to come off was all of the light covers/shrouds the grill, the intake box and I just uncoupled the inner finders behind the bumber close to where the fogs mount to be able to reach in. Used a piece of wire with a loop on it to fish the new corner light wires back into place.
229616

All back together. For now, I decided to not cut out the fog light plates in the lower portion of the bumper.
229617

Placed the Fog light relays into the PDC.
229618

Good sign that the switch has power!
229619

They work!!!! And all other lights work as they should!
229620

Went ahead and added the amber tint to them. I think it looks awesome and fits well…
Fogs do turn off when the brights are on just like they were intended to.

I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out and I appreciate everyone’s help, input, knowledge and encouragement!
Hopefully someone else looking for a stock fog application finds this thread helpful for their project!
Total time was about five hours. Just be sure to take your time and do a good job 🙂

I guess it’s a matter of luck they were there. It was by far more expensive to add all of the stock equipment rather than just buy aftermarket fogs, relays and switches, but if you want the factory feel, it’s the way to go.
I was thinking about modifying my set up a little though.
I scoffed a headlight harness for fog lights.
Remember the connector inside the engine compartment that you hooked up that too?
Well thinking that the power and ground for the fog lights is not in there.
So I would repin that connector with some wire.
I would still be running wire and using a relay that would not be in the PDC.
Thinking it would be a bit of a cleaner install.
But not sure if it is worth the trouble since the job is done and works fine.
If I hadn't done the job yet I probably would try to do it that way instead of how I did do it.

Yeah, since yours is already done, I wouldn’t go and fix something that works and isn’t broken. I mean, if you are bored and have the time and energy go for it and have fun with it.
I feel like I definitely lucked out with the options and the possible options my Cherokee came with. I guess the hardest option to add on mine would be four wheel drive lol.

while I was doing the harness swap, I did find two wires that run into the body harness right behind the driver headlight and the harness plug for the headlights that were cut and just laying there. I have a feeling it was for the cooling fan, but I’m not completely sure about them. Right now I have a spal relay and a switch for the fan, but I’m looking to clean up those wires and get rid of the switch with a mishimoto set up. Should be able to hide the wires for the mishimoto set up and it has a built in switch to turn the fan on at 195 degrees. Just another back burner item for when I find the time to do it. Lol
